If It’s Yellow…

One of the most pressing issues right now is flushing the toilet. We have not been producing much gray water, and it is such a waste to use fresh water for flushing. We found a small amount of salt water, and that has been sufficient for now. Hopefully as time progresses, we will build up enough gray water for flushing. But hey, if it’s yellow, let it mellow; if it’s brown, flush it down.

We are all somewhat inexperienced and manually flushing a toilet, so it has been a journey to find the best method. We have tried pouring water into the bowl, which has worked for some but seems to be an acquired skill. Otherwise, we have poured water into the back of the toilet, then flushed as normal. This method has worked for most, but it is still up for debate which is best.
