In reply to <a href="https://drylab2023.net/2017/05/19/day-3-belly-beast/#comment-12">Lorenza (Tia Lori) Gabaree</a>.

Thank you for your comment! As I do these interviews with the participants here, I am not trying to focus on the negative, but rather what each person is doing individually to feel content and happy while in a new and different environment. By asking these questions, I am not disregarding the struggles that people who live in these conditions go through all the time. Pain in relative for everyone and when going into an extreme environment it might be difficult for people to find happiness, especially immediately. My goal here is to find what makes people happy under extreme conditions they may not be used to. I certainly believe that there are joys that come from a simple life and hope that in the time we are here, that we will continue to build the camaraderie that you also felt with those you lived with. We are all excited to be able to have this experience and I am excited to continue working with the other participants to discuss happiness as it relates to sustainable behavior.

Wow, sounds a bit depressing! Surely there is a lot more joyful moments and enthusiasm about what you are accomplishing for all of us, and humankind of the future. Perhaps because I lived through outhouses and tubs that were filled manually once a week for a bath I feel there should be more a sense of pride and fulfillment. I don't look at the negative, but focus on the positive, with my memories always joyful of a simple life, even though it was a life filled with manual labor but also commaradarie: Hand scrubbed laundry, clothes lines, heating water on a wood stove, all meals simple and home made. It has been that long ago that the advancements in invention have grown by leaps and bounds!! Stay positive! ...and yes we are where we are because we have abused our planet, but we are similar in that our perseverance and strength will lead the way for future planning and nuturing nature, if you will. Anxious to hear what will drive you to do this and what you will do to succeed, not lay down and give up!! Find that inner strength and get it done, steadily and with community goals!!! Help each other find the answers we need, we are counting on YOU!!! Love that you care enough to take this on!😘
